pace rebrand Critchill School

When we were asked by Mark Armstrong, the Head of Critchill School in Frome, if we could help with their re-branding we jumped at the chance.

Critchill School’s specialism is with students requiring Special Educational Needs and to have the opportunity to help showcase the exceptional environment that Mark and his team provide working with pupils of such a wide range of abilities was both a privilege and a dream job.

Inclusivity was paramount and from the outset we collaborated with the pupils and asked if they would like to contribute their own ideas to the new branding – you bet they would !

A steering group and workshop were subsequently set up and the students responded brilliantly supplying us with an extraordinary range of ideas and possibilities.

This approach really helped us with a better understanding of requirement across the piece and we were now in a position to work up some initial designs.

We wanted to create a fresh and uplifting brand, full of energy and aspiration, a brand that represented the philosophy of the school, the special gifts of these kids and that all things were possible - and so the Critchill Eagle was born.

This was followed with the development of a suite of vibrant literature and branded collateral including prospectus, building signage, uniforms, merchandising and of course the school people carrier, all incorporating the striking design that resonates with all pupils, parents and staff alike – we are delighted to report it has been an overwhelming success.

Now the fun bit ! – A Learn to Lead team (of self-nominated children from all ages in the school) was arranged and this team brilliantly conceived and organised a ‘Launch Day’ to reveal the new branding to pupils and parents which included a fashion show runway where the pupils were able to strut their stuff showing of their cracking new school uniform to the best advantage. Everybody had a fabulous time and the students were the true stars of the show – as the press releases show !

Really big thanks to Mark and his team for their energy and input, and especially of course to all of the students at Critchill for collaborating with us on this most worthwhile of projects – thank you all.

Currently working on the website so more to come !

“It’s been a great experience working with pace. They fully understand the ethos and vision of our school and how we want to represent it. They listen carefully and make very pertinent suggestions and recommendations. This has enabled us to end up with a brand which we can use a long way into the future and which truly represents our school.

Many thanks again to Nick and his colleagues.”
